Spain vs Serbia Preview

Spain had 25 shots and 61% possession against Denmark and deservedly won on Saturday. Serbia lost a lot of veteran players after Euro 2024 and will be without Dusan Vlahovic, so I am expecting La Roja to clinch another win and keep their net intact.

  • Spain have won 10 of their last 12 matches.

  • Spain kept a clean sheet in their last match against Serbia.

  • Serbia have failed to score in 4 of their last 6 matches.

Head to Head

Spain have a 1-0 advantage against Serbia with 3 draws in 4 matches.

They last met in September, the game ending in a goalless draw in Belgrade.

Spain Form

Spain had 1.49-0.73 expected goals, 68% possession and 22-9 shots in their Nations League first match against Serbia, but still couldn’t find the net in Belgrade, the match ending in a goalless draw.

The Red Fury returned to winning ways a couple of days later against Switzerland 4-1 in Geneve, Fabian Ruiz scoring a brace, Joselu and Ferran Torres also on target. Also, Robin Le Normand was sent off in the first half.

Luis de la Fuente’s side was also victorious on Saturday night against Denmark 1-0 in front of the home crowd, Martin Zubimendi breaking the Scandinavian defense in 79th minute.

They are currently at top of the Nations League A Group 4 with seven points from four matches.

Serbia Form

Serbia had a lot of absent players in their first UEFA Nations League opening match against Spain in September, but managed to hold the reigning European champions to a goalless draw in Belgrade.

Three days later, the Eagles suffered a well-deserved 2-0 defeat to Denmark in Copenhagen, ending the match with 0.20-0.70 expected goals, 49% possession and 7-10 shots.

Dragan Stojkovic’s side secured their first victory on Saturday evening at home against Switzerland 2-0. Nico Elvedi scored own goal just before the break, while Aleksandar Mitrovic doubled the lead in 61st minute. Also, Predrag Rajkovic saved a penalty in the 72th minute.
