Salzburg vs Dinamo Zagreb Preview

Dinamo Zagreb won just two of their last six games in Croatia, while also getting humiliated by Bayern Munich 9-2. Salzburg had a couple of rough weeks, but I believe this squad has the quality to bounce back and claim victory on Wednesday.

  • Salzburg have won 5 of their last 7 home matches.

  • Salzburg have won 2 of their last 3 home matches against Dinamo Zagreb.

  • Dinamo Zagreb have lost 5 of their last 8 away matches (Champions League).

Head to Head

Salzburg have a 4-1 advantage against Dinamo Zagreb with 3 draws in 8 matches.

They last met in October 2022, the game ending in a 1-1 draw.

Salzburg Form

Salzburg had a disastrous start to the UEFA Champions League group stages, currently sitting in the last place after suffering back to back defeats to Sparta Prague 3-0 and Brest 4-0.

The Bulls also suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat to Sturm Graz in the Austrian Bundesliga earlier this month, but bounced back after the international break by beating Rheindorf Altach 2-1 at home.

They were behind in that match until 84th minute when Karim Konate found an equalizer, Edmund Baidoo scoring the winning goal two minutes later.

Salzburg are 4th in the Austrian top flight with 16 points from eight matches.

Salzburg Injuries & Team News

Winger Dorgeles Nene and striker Moussa Yeo are ruled out for this match due to injuries.

Petar Ratkov and Takumu Kawamura are also sidelined but were not expected to start.

Dinamo Zagreb Form

Dinamo Zagreb also had a rough start to the UCL group stages, suffering a humiliating 9-2 defeat to Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena which was one of the main reasons to sack manager Sergej Jakirovic.

They looked much better in the second round, holding favored AS Monaco to a 2-2 draw at home earlier this month. The Blues had a 2-0 lead with Petar Sucic and Martin Baturina finding the net, but conceded twice in the last 15 minutes.

Dinamo Zagreb slipped up in the Croatian HNL last weekend and won just a point against Istra 2-2 and moved down to 3rd place on the table, having four points less than the leaders Hajduk Split.

Dinamo Zagreb Injuries & Team News

Nenad Bjelica was appointed new head manager in late September.

He has no injury or suspension concerns for this match.
