Monaco vs Red Star Belgrade Preview

I like Red Star Belgrade’s scoring potential but I don’t see them stopping in-form Monaco from claiming three points at Stade Louis II. Hosts are having a great season in Ligue 1, so a home win & BTTS is the best bet.

  • Monaco have won 7 of their last 10 matches.

  • Monaco have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 6 matches.

  • Monaco have won their last 2 matches against Red Star Belgrade.

  • Red Star Belgrade have lost their last 6 away matches (Champions League).

  • Red Star Belgrade have scored in 19 of their last 20 matches.

Head to Head

This is going to be the third head to head match between AC Milan and Club Brugge.

Both games were won by Monaco 1-0 and 4-1 in the Europa League season 2022/23.

Monaco Form

Monaco are having a great start to the new Ligue 1 season, currently sharing the top of the table with PSG after collecting 20 points in eight matches.

After earning back to back victories against Auxerre 3-0, Le Havre 3-1, Montpellier 2-1 and Rennes 2-1, they were held to a goalless draw on Friday by Lille.

Monaco started the UEFA Champions League group stages by upsetting Barcelona 2-1 at home, Maghnes Akliouche and George Ilenikhena finding the net. In the second round they grabbed a point in Zagreb against Dinamo 2-2.

Monaco Injuries & Team News

Monaco’s top scorer this season Folarin Balogun is ruled out due to an injury.

Mohammed Salisu is also sidelined, Wilfried Singo expected to take his place.

Red Star Belgrade Form

Red Star Belgrade were defeated in both UEFA Champions League group stage matches, starting with a 2-1 home defeat to Benfica where Milson scored a late consolation goal.

The Red and Whites couldn’t do much in the second round at Guiseppe Meazza against Inter Milan (lost 4-0), ending the match with 1.02-2.01 expected goals, 50% possession and 11-15 shots.

Vladan Milojevic’s side extended their winning streak to nine games in the Serbian Super Liga last weekend by demolishing Radnicki Nis 5-1, Luka Ilic scoring hat-trick, Aleksandar Katai bagging a brace.

Red Star Belgrade Injuries & Team News

Two standard members of the starting lineup Mirko Ivanic and Ognjen Mimovic are injured.
