Mamelodi Sundowns Form & News

Sundowns saw a seven-match winning streak ended last weekend. Complacency may have set in ahead of two big fixtures this week.

A 2-1 victory at Kaizer Chiefs was followed by a 5-0 victory over Golden Arrows in the Carling Knockout Cup. A 2-1 win at home against Royal AM followed with a heavily rotated team.

On Sunday, they conceded a late goal to lose 1-0 at Polokwane City in a shock defeat.

Coach Manqoba Mngqithi has winger Lucas Ribeiro back from suspension to start. Grant Kekana and Khuliso Mudau are set for recalls at the back.

Teboho Mokoena will hope to start in midfield after being left out of the XI in seven of the last eight matches.

Cape Town City Form & News

City followed a four-match winless run with two victories and a draw.

A 3-0 defeat away vs Stellenbosch was followed by a 1-0 home win vs SuperSport United. A 3-0 win over Royal AM in the Carling Knockout Cup saw them reach the last eight.

On Sunday, City drew 0-0 at home to Magesi. They didn’t allow a shot on target but couldn’t find a breakthrough at the other end.

Right back Thami Mkhize is fit to start and Aprocious Petrus is back in midfield after suspension.

Coach Eric Tinkler must decide between Prins Tjiueza and Amadou Soukhouna up front.
