Lecce vs Verona Preview

Lecce look like one of the main relegation candidates, sitting at the bottom of the table with just three goals scored in nine games. While Verona are in poor form, they have managed to win some points on the road this season, making an away win a good value bet.

  • Lecce have lost their last 5 matches.

  • Verona have won 5 of their last 6 matches against Lecce.

  • Verona have won 2 of their last 5 away matches.

Head to Head

Verona have a 9-5 advantage against Lecce with 6 draws in 20 matches.

They last met in March, the game being won by Verona 1-0.

Lecce Form

Judging by the early days, Lecce will once again be in the relegation battle, currently sitting in the last 20th place in Serie A with five points from nine matches.

They suffered their fifth straight defeat last weekend at Napoli 1-0, ending the match with 0.65-2.40 expected goals, 35% possession and 11-24 shots.

Earlier this season, Giallorossi were beaten by Fiorentina 6-0, Udinese 1-0, AC Milan 3-0 and Sassuolo 2-0 (Coppa Italia).

Lecce Injuries & Team News

Frederic Guillbert and Filip Marchwinski suffered injuries last weekend against Udinese and won’t be available.

They joined Kevin Bonifazi, Medon Berisha, Joan Gonzalez and Jeppe Corfitzen who’ve been sidelined for a while.

Midfielder Luis Hasa is doubtful.

Verona Form

Verona are currently in awful form, having lost five of their last six appearances in Serie A and dropped down to 15th place on the table.

The Mastiffs got demolished in Bergamo last weekend by Atalanta 6-1, conceding five goals in 34 minutes before Amin Sarr scored a consolation goal. This was their second straight defeat, previously losing at home to Monza 3-0.

Verona did manage a 2-1 win over Venezia earlier this month, snapping a three-game losing streak that included losses to Como (3-2), Torino (3-2), and Lazio (2-1).

Verona Injuries & Team News

Manager Paolo Zanetti can’t count on Juan Manuel Cruz, Martine Frese and Pawel Dawidowicz who are injured, but were not expected to start.
