Galatasaray vs Elfsborg Preview

Galatasaray look unstoppable in the Super Lig with eight wins in nine games. That can’t be said for their back line, conceding three goals in two UEL games. Elfsborg have high-scoring potential, so I am backing home win & BTTS in Turkey.

  • Galatasaray have won 7 of their last 9 matches.

  • Galatasaray have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 7 matches.

  • Elfsborg have lost their last 2 matches.

  • Elfsborg have seen BTTS in 4 of their last 5 matches.

Head to Head

This is going to be the first head to head match between Galatasaray and Elfsborg.

Galatasaray Form

Galatasaray are having a fantastic season so far in the Turkish Super Lig, sitting top of the table with 25 points from nine matches (eight wins and one draw).

They were victorious against Antalyaspor 3-0 last weekend, Mauro Icardi breaking the deadlock early and then doubling the lead in 52nd minute. The final score was set by Victor Osimhen in stoppage time.

Cimbom also had a successful start to their Europa League group stage campaign by defeating PAOK 3-1 at home, but won just a point against minnows Rigas FS 2-2 in Latvia. Yunus Akgun appeared on the scoresheet on both occasions.

Galatasaray Injuries & Team News

Goalkeeper Fernando Muslera is suspended, while defenders Ali Yesilyurt and Ismail Jakobs are injured. Jakobs is expected to back in mid-November.

Elfsborg Form

Elfsborg are having a disappointing campaign in Swedish Allsvenskan, sitting in 7th place with 41 points with just three rounds left to be played.

They were defeated in both domestic appearances this month, suffering a 3-1 home defeat to Hacken last weekend and losing to Sirius 4-1 earlier.

Oscar Hiljemark’s side lost the Europa League first round match in Holland to AZ Alkmaar 3-2 but then caused a massive upset by defeating Roma 1-0 at home, Michael Baidoo converting a penalty just before the break.
