Head to Head

Wigan have a 23-20 advantage against Blackpool in 53 meetings with 10 draws.

Blackpool Form

Blackpool made a promising start to life under new manager Steve Bruce in September. The experienced manager led the Tangerines to four wins from his first five in charge.

The North West outfit struggled to maintain momentum and have taken just one point from their last four. A 1-1 draw with Lincoln came before a 2-0 loss at Mansfield and a 2-1 home defeat to Barnsley.

Bruce’s side lost a third consecutive game on Tuesday, falling to a 5-1 defeat against Peterborough. Blackpool were 2-0 down after 17 minutes and Kyle Joseph pulled a goal back before the Tangerines conceded three more.

The Latics drew 0-0 in four of five matches before defeating League Two side Carlisle 2-0 away in the EFL Trophy. Shaun Maloney’s side then lost back-to-back matches, starting with a 2-0 defeat at Cambridge.

The Lancashire outfit conceded early in a 2-1 loss against Mansfield last time out before attempting 22-4 shots. Thelo Aasgaard levelled in the second period but Wigan conceded a second with 30 minutes left.
