Head to Head

Atalanta and Celtic will meet for the first time on Wednesday.

Atalanta Form

Atalanta extended their winning run to three matches with a comfortable 2-0 victory at Venezia on Sunday. In-form forward Mateo Retegui was again on the scoresheet as La Dea claimed a fourth Serie A win of the season.

Gian Piero Gasperini's side have enjoyed a strong run of form in recent weeks, picking up four victories while losing just one of their last seven matches.

The Serie A side have made a solid start to their Champions League campaign. Atalanta claimed a goalless draw against Arsenal before a comfortable 3-0 win against Shakhtar.

Atalanta Team News

Atalanta boss Gasperini is unable to call on a handful of players on Wednesday. Rafael Toloi, Marco Brescianini and Odilon Kossounou join long-term absentees Gianluca Scamacca and Giorgio Scalvini on the sidelines.

Mateo Retegui is a near-cert to lead the attack. The Italian international scored six goals in his last four appearances for club and country.

Celtic Form

Celtic arrive in Bergamo after throwing away a two-goal lead in Saturday's Premiership contest against Aberdeen. The Hoops won their first seven league games of the season before the entertaining 2-2 draw at Parkhead.

Brendan Rodgers's side return to Champions League business looking to bounce back from a 7-1 thrashing at Borussia Dortmund last month.

The Scottish champions have a largely miserable away record in this competition. Celtic conceded 25 goals while losing their last six UCL road matches.

Celtic Team News

Brendan Rodgers has a couple of expected absentees to deal with on Wednesday. Greg Taylor remains absent with a hamstring problem, while Cameron Carter-Vickers is also set to miss out for the Hoops.
