Argentina vs Bolivia Predictions

Argentina should have too much quality for an in-form Bolivian side on Tuesday.

A home win with a minimum of three goals scored should prove a solid choice at Estadio Mâs Monumental.

  • Argentina won 8 of their last 10 home matches (World Cup qualifiers)

  • Argentina won 8 of their last 9 matches against Bolivia

  • Bolivia have seen over 2.5 goals in 7 of their last 9 matches against Argentina

  • Bolivia lost 19 of their last 22 away matches (World Cup qualifiers)

  • Bolivia have seen over 2.5 goals in 17 of their last 22 away matches (World Cup qualifiers)

Head to Head

Argentina and Bolivia have faced each other on 19 occasions since 1995. Argentina claimed victory in 13 of those matches, while Bolivia picked up just two wins in 2017 (2-0) and 2009 (6-1).

Argentina Form

Argentina return to Buenos Aires following a 1-1 draw in Venezuela last Thursday. In a rain-soaked contest, the Argentines lacked their usual spark as Salomón Rondón's second-half strike secured a deserved point for the home side.

Lionel Scaloni's men have failed to win their last two qualifiers after a 2-1 defeat in Colombia last month. Despite dropping eight points in their five most recent qualifiers, La Albiceleste remain top of the South American qualification section, three points ahead of the Colombians.

A strong record in Buenos Aires has proven the foundation for Scaloni's side. Argentina won eight of their last ten home qualifiers since 2021, with clean sheets kept in all eight victories.

Argentina Squad & Team News

Goalkeepers: Gerónimo Rulli, Juan Musso, Walter Benítez

Defenders: Nicolás Otamendi (vice-captain), Nicolás Tagliafico, Nahuel Molina, Germán Pezzella, Cristian Romero, Gonzalo Montiel, Lisandro Martínez, Leonardo Balerdi, Julio Soler

Midfielders: Rodrigo De Paul, Leandro Paredes, Giovani Lo Celso, Alexis Mac Allister, Exequiel Palacios, Enzo Fernández, Thiago Almada, Facundo Buonanotte

Forwards: Lionel Messi (captain), Lautaro Martínez, Julián Álvarez, Valentín Carboni, Nico Paz

Head coach Scaloni could make one or two changes to his first XI on Tuesday. Lautaro Martinez is pushing for a recall, with Thiago Almada likely to drop out.

Emiliano Martinez misses out as completes his two-match suspension; however, Cristian Romero is set to return after missing the draw against Venezuela.

Bolivia Form

Bolivia arrive in Argentina in high spirits after a sensational 1-0 win against Colombia on Thursday. Despite being reduced to ten men after just 20 minutes, Óscar Villegas's side claimed a famous victory in El Alto.

La Verde have enjoyed something of a resurgence this year, with victories picked up in four of their last five World Cup qualifiers. Bolivia had lost 12 of 15 previous World Cup qualifiers before their surprise uptick in form.

Despite recent improvements, Villegas's men have a miserable away record in World Cup qualification. Before their win in Chile last month, Bolivia had failed to win any of 56 away qualifiers since 2000 (D6, L50).
